Joining the teams testing today was Britain’s Lewis Hamilton, he replaced Pedro De La Rosa and joined double world champion Fernando at the Barcelona circuit, Fernando finishing the day 4th and Lewis finishing 6th. Although the McLaren team didn’t finish the day in first they did not encounter any technical faults with the new car, which some of the teams would like to have. Renault’s driver Giancarlo Fisichella stopped out on track in the final few minutes of the test, ending the day a few minutes earlier than the other teams would of wanted. Only 10 of the 11 teams participated in the Barcelona test, although all 11 visited the circuit but only Scudera Torro Rosso did not test their new car, the STR02. The Mclaren Team completed 181 laps, Fernando completing 63 and Lewis finishing 118. The times from the second day of testing are shown below.
