The team owner of 'Prodrive F1' for 2008 has announced that he is aiming for a McLaren 'B' team when he enters the sport again in 2008. The FIA's current regulations state that a team cannot use customer chassis from other teams, but the new 2008 regulations open up a new ball game for smaller F1
teams who can buy chassis off of other major F1 teams. This could mean a Mecedes Engine deal too, however this is not the main focus at the moment and they seem to be discussing with McLaren the chassis, but due to the chassis being built around the engine, I bet we will see them using Mecedes Branded Engines.
The current 'B' team for Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Toro Rosso is only allowed to use old style chassis from the predecessor's first chassis and will probably inherit Red Bull's 2006 Chassis in 2007, unless they decide to build their own for the 2008 season. However they will also be another team that could work with Red Bull's factory in 2008 and build two teams using the same chassis and possibly engines, saving money and hard labour!
