Alicia Molik of Australia meets French Amelie Mauresmo in the Proximus Diamond Games semifinal. Molik defeats Czech Klara Koukalova 6-3, 6-4 and Mauresmo defeats Swiss Patty Schnyder 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Things are still going according to Moliks plan. “I was very happy with this match”, she said. “It will be very nice to play in front of huge Belgian crowd, there are so many tennisfans here”.
“I still have the feeling that I am progressing and that I can get better. My decision making has become better and I am playing more aggressively”.
Klara Koukalova who reached the final in Antwerp in 2001 as a qualifier could not hold off Alicia Molik in their first meeting.
Amelie Mauresmo had a less easy task in meeting Swiss Patty Schnyder. The lefthander won the first set 6-4 and saw Mauresmo coming back in the second set. The Frenchwoman did break Schnyders resistance in the third set taking the match in 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
