Kim Clijsters announced on her website that she is not playing the WTA tournament in Rome and the second Grand Slam in Paris. After visiting her doctor she was told to take a rest to cure her wrist injury. She could cause a chronic injury if she decides to keep playing with her wrist brace, the doctor told her. She is also having problems with a tendon.

On Friday Kim wrote in her dairy that she was not able to hit any balls without pain. Especially the backhands were hard to play. She explained that Marat Safin was struggling for a year with a similar injury.

She was really looking forward playing Rome and Rolland Garros since her matches for the Fed Cup turned out good and she only had a little pain. She tells herself that she has to be more patient and wait for her injuries to be fully cured.
