Kim Clijsters overcame a feisty Anastasia Myskina and a ankle injury to progress into the semi-final against Patty Schnyder who was a comfortable winner over Lisa Raymond The Belgian started off in good form racing to a 5-0 lead in the first set but allowed the Russian to break serve and hold before sealing the set 6-2.

Myskina looked as if the second set was hers leading 4-1 when Clijsters needed treatment on her ankle. She received some strapping on the ankle which clearly restricted her movement.

Down 5-3 the number 2 seed started to stage a comeback winning the next 3 games to go ahead 6-5 and hold match points.

She failed to convert those match points taking it into a very long tie-break. Myskina held 2 set points but finally Clijsters came out victor winning 11-9.

Patty Schnyder will be her next opponent advancing into her first semi-final claiming a straight sets win over Lisa Raymond.

Raymond had beaten Venus Williams in the third round and looked in impressive form, but the Swiss is finally starting to pull her game together.

The left hander won 7-6, 6-2 and could even stretch her run even further if Kim Cljister's injury forces her out of the tie.
