Jelena Dokic of Serbia-Montenegro defeats Croatian Jelena Kostanic 7-6 (7) 6-4 to meet the no. 1 of the ranking Kim Clijsters from Belgium in the second round of the Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig Germany. The 20-year-old Dokic is trying to get back into the top ten after her ranking dropped to no. 26. Jelena Dokic, who held a no. 4 posittion earlier in her career, said its not easy to come back into the top ten of the ranking. She is having trouble picking up her form she had one year ago. Since she is not seeing her father Damir anymore her tennis career went downhill.

Jelena and her father were having an argument about Jelena’s boyfriend former Formula One driver Enrique Bernoldi from Brasil. She is hoping her coach Borna Bikic can help her both off and on court by talking a lot.

"I've had a year when I haven't played well. I want to get back into the top 10. That's where my game belongs."

Czech qualifier Sandra Kleinova defeats Italian Francesca Schiavone 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Russian Lina Krasnoroutskaya needed two tie-breaks to defeat Fabiola Zuluaga 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3).

Elke Clijsters, Kims younger sister, lost to Maria Vento-Kabchi, 3-6 1-6.
