The shocks carried on at the WTA Tour J&S Cup, Warsaw as 10th seed Tatiana Panova and home favourite Iva Majoli all went crashing out in straight forward fashion whilst Dokic wins in a struggle
Panova who has beaten Jennifer Capriati this year could not find any answer to Sandra Kleinova from the Czech Republic when she thrashed the Russian 6-2, 6-1. Home hopes of a Croatian winning the title were all pinned on Iva Majoli, 1997 French Open Champion, but still yet to find her form on the clay surface falling to a 6-1, 6-4 loss to Denisa Chladkova.
Jelena Dokic struggled against Myriam Casanova in a 2 hour match but eventually beat the Swiss player 7-5, 7-6.
No problems for Francesca Schiavone who is a brilliant clay court player eased past another good clay court player Katarina Srebotnik.
Anna Pistolesi became the first player into the quarter-finals after beating American Jill Craybas in a one sided match.
