Jelena Dokic is in talks with Tennis Australia to become an Australian citizen again. Dokic quit Australia after media tension between her family and became a Yugoslavian at the Australian Open 2000 her last appearance in Australia. Dokic played Lindsay Davenport that year which pushed her towards the decision even more feeling that the draw was fixed.

The decision has come so that Dokic currently ranked 10th in the world can represent Australia at the Athens Olympics next year.

She had vowed never to play for her adopted country again but seems to be making peace with Australia.

The plan will be good news for the Australian fans who have stayed with Dokic and always to Jelena allowing her to play at the Australian Open again.

"We don't want to say too much just yet but I will say that Jelena would be very welcome to compete for us" said Tennis Australia director Mike Daws
