Mauresmo Will Miss Australian Open

"I want to confirm that I won't be making the trip to Australia," Amelie Mauresmo said on Wednesday. She told the press that she was not ready yet to participate at the Grand Slam were she played and lost the final against Martina Hingis in 1999. Mauresmo, who also had to withdraw from the Masters in Los Angeles, started having trouble with her knee at the Swisscom Challenge Tournament in Zurich where she had to give up her match.

She said her right knee is still not yet healed on a telephone press conference on Wednesday and told the press that she was hoping for her re-appearance at the Open Gas of France.

Mauresmo won this years Dubai and Canadian Open tournaments. She reached the Quarter Finals in Melbourne this year. The Semi Finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open and the 4th round at Roland Garros.
