New captain for Czech Republic

The Czech Republic FED Cup team has appointed Petra Langrova as their new Captain. Langrova is taking over from Jan Kukal. The Czech Republic will be up against Italy in the next round of the FED Cup starting October 30th in Gran Canaria. This will be the first meeting between the two in FED Cup. The new captain for the Czech Republic Petra Langrova, 32, has retired from the WTA tour in 1998 with one tournament title under her belt. She won the Paris Indoor title in 1988 being the first tournament she played and which she had to qualify for as well.

Langrova played for the Czech FED Cup team in 1994 and 1995, she played five doubles matches representing her country. She won all of the matches she played for the Czech Republic.
