After 4 home defeats on the bounce, City bounced back to demolish a Vauxhall Motors side that are tipped by many for promotion this season. Chester line-up (1st Half) - W Brown, Hatswell, Ruffer, Guyett, Kelly, Davies, McIntyre, Brodie, Twiss, Beesley, Woodyatt

Chester Line up (2nd Half) - Worsnop, Lancaster, Ruffer, Hatswell, Carey, M Brown, Sugden, Carden, Blackburn, Cameron, Grant.

With only the Liverpool game remaining after today, it was Mark Wright's last chance to try out formations/players. At times throughout the match we saw striker Danny Collins playing centre back, winger Ben Davies playing centre mid and new trialist Grant playing upfront.

City not yet in the new shirts were matched in the first 25 minutes by a lively Vauxhall Motors team. Beesley was sharpe and Brodie looked as lively as ever in the opening exchanges.

The deadlock was broken in the 29th minute when Scott Guyett met a cross from the right to bullet a headed past the Vauxhall Motors keeper. Guyett now has scored 2 in his two appearances for his new club.

10 minutes later Michael Twiss found the ball at his feet and neatly spun and shot from 18 yards out to double Chester's lead.

Seconds from half time City made it 3 when a ball was thrown into the penalty where Woodyatt headed back to Brodie who made no mistake from the penalty spot.

After the half time break Wright made a number of changes to his side and only Ruffer and Hatswell remained on the field. (Hatswell was replaced by Danny Collins early in the second half). It wasn't long before the impressive trialist (Grant) set up Mickey Brown who hooked the ball into the net after a goal mouth scramble.

Sugden made it 5 after he turned his marker and waiting for the keeper go down before calmly placing the ball into the Motormen’s goal.

It was soon 6-0 when the speedy Grant played in a dangerous cross which was turned into his own net by a Vauxhall Motors defender. By this time City were controlling the game and were getting large amounts of the possession.

The scoring was completed when Mickey Brown notched up his second of the game after Sugden and Cameron linked up before playing Brown in.
