Speed Dating WRSC style

The Warriors Rugby Supporter’s Club held their first ‘speed dating’ evening with the forwards on Tuesday 28th October in the Duckworth Suite.
With over 100 tickets being issued it was a great night with 20 players in attendance and Warriors CEO Anthony Glossop.
As we had a lot of new faces it was decided that the players would introduce themselves and say a fact about themselves – whether it was true or false we will never know. With Percy say he was Anthony Glossop’s love child you can see how that some ‘facts’ were not quite the truth!
Once they had introduced themselves they made their way to a table to join the awaiting supporters. After about 10 minutes chatting it was all change and the players moved on.
Having been to all of these evenings in the past, I definitely felt that this process made the night more enjoyable and the players seemed very relaxed during the introduction to the supporters.
PE had a chance to chat to Matt Gilbert. He was asked if he told the refs that he has a hearing problem. Matt said not anymore. He had told Nigel Owens once that he was deaf and during the game Nigel carded him. Matt explained he hadn’t heard Nigel but was dismissed with: ”Don’t give me that you still know the laws – you’re off for ten”.
So next month we hope to have the 2nd edition with ‘Meet The Backs’. This evening will follow the same format and ticket numbers will be limited again. So look out in your emails, on the message board, on Facebook, Twitter and the WRSC website for the date confirmation and when the tickets are available!
Have a look through the photos below and see if you can name all the players WITHOUT resorting to a programme or the Warriors website! (If you can you did better than most of those on Tuesday night!)

Introductions - great idea, saving potential embarrassment
Players moving instead of supporters - good idea in theory, but forwards got a bit confused. Backs might do better!
