Darlington finsihed their home pre-season preperations with a 3-2 defeat to Bradford City. However, the scoreline did not reflect the game which was far from a stumbling block, with more positives than negatives beaming out from the Quakers Bradford scored first after an "all guns blazing" run from Bantams Marc Bridge-Wilkinson led to a cool finish to the left of Sam Russell. Quakers equalised however through Dutch ace Clyde Wijhnard, after some good link up play involving Johnson and Wainwright.

Darlo's latest addition, Inverness born left back, David Duke then conceded a penalty which brought the game to 2-1 after Dean Windass fired the spot-kick to the right of the goalkeeper.

A goal from Matthew Clarke levelled the score after some great work down the wing from Neil Wainwright, who saw a poor shot hit home by Clarke. The second half saw the introduction of left winger Carlos Logan, who really looked the part, beating opponenets and whipping in some good crosses.

Ex - Quaker Bobby Petta was greeted by a chorous of boos every time he touched the ball, but made way for former target Damion Stewart to score the third goal of the night with a thumping header.

It could have been a win for Darlo however, who saw efforts from Johnson,Wijhnard and Sodje miss by a hair. Darlington looked comfortable going forward and will hope to continue these positives when at Durham City this Friday evening.
