The first few names being linked with the club are beginning to seep through. There are some surprise inclusions. Click here to find out who!
MATTHEW TIPTON is rumoured to be a target for Darlington. His surprise release by Macclesfield Town has seen a host of clubs declare their interest, including newly relegated Wrexham, Swansea City, Bristol Rovers and, of course, Darlington. There, however, has been no further indications as to who he will sign for. Fellow strikers Colin Larkin (released by Mansfield Town) and Jamie Cade have also attracted interest from the club. Cade, who used to be a part of the Middlesbrough Youth Squad while current Darlington Assistant Manager Mark Proctor was in charge, is set to begin a trial with The Quakers when the pre-season schedule begins. But it doesn't stop there, another striker has been linked with Darlington, this time Manchester United striker Colin Heath, although very little has been heard about him.
Alun Armstrong also appears to be considering a short-term deal with the club despite being most probably ruled out of the whole pre-season with a hip injury.
