CCFC's third season back in the second tier ended with them finishing where most fans would have been happy with back in August - mid table, but that only tells half the story. The season started poorly and finished badly but in the middle we did show some consistency...

In the early weeks of the season, apart from the usual matter of beating Leeds United ( we seem to like taking points off them! ) - it looked like a long hard season, but the team knuckled down and began to grind out some good results. The football at times was pretty ordinary but the defence looked solid, and the home defeat by Watford which put us in the relegation frame seemed to have been buried.

The seasons highlights were a six goal drubbing of Crewe and the trip to Highbury in the Cup, plus some good wins on the road - Plymouth being a prime example. But with the play-offs seemingly within touching distance the season fell apart so badly the club could only manage 3 points out of twenty four and hit rock bottom of the form tables. Crowds were again lower than in previous years but thankfully so was any sign of trouble at Ninian Park, hopefully word will get around the Champoinship and the away end will start filling up even more - we need them!

Season tickets are on sale at competitive prices if bought before the end of May, but as usual even this has complications with rumours about the terracing being allowed to be used by the Football League rumbling on....

Players will go, players will be signed, Koumas will continue talking about his future and David Jones will no doubt be linked with a host of jobs in the Premiership etc.
