Cardiff City have announced the squad for the pre-season tour to Scotland. 22 players will make the trip up north. Trialist, Martyn Margeston is amongst the tour party. The Official web-site has today released the squad which will travel to Scotland for Cardiff's 3 match pre-season tour.

The squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers:
Neil Alexader
Martyn Margeston

Defenders:
Scott Young
Rhys Weston
Spencer Prior
James Collins
Chris Barker
Gary Croft
Danny Gabbidon
Andy Legg

Midfielders:
Willie Boland
Des Hamitlon
Gareth Whalley
Ceri Hughes
Graham Kavanagh
Leyton Maxwell
Jason Bowen

Forwards:
Gavin Gordon
Leo Fortune-West
Robert Earnshaw
Peter Thorne
Andy Campbell

Josh Low and Mark Walton both miss out on the squad, after appearing in the Merthyr game at Penydarren Park.

The absence of David Hughes from the pre-season has surprised me, as I think he is very under-rated and should be in first team contention.

Mark Bonner also missed out through injury.

Cardiff's first game on the Scottish tour is against Ayr United tomorrow. The Bluebirds then travel back to England to face Berwick Rangers on the 25th, and finished off playing SPL side, Motherwell on the 28th.

Best of luck to the Bluebirds on the tour of Scotland!
