There is still no news on who Cardiff's shirt sponsor will be for next season. The News of the World today reported that the Hooligans programme has had a serious affect on company's sponsoring The Bluebirds.
Today's News of the World has reported that Cardiff City still has no news on shirt sponsorship. It is rumoured that sponsors pulled out of deals after the BCC Hooligans programme, shown a few months ago, disgraced Cardiff City.
The News of the World has today reported that there is still no news on who will be Cardiff City's shirt sponsor for the 2002/2003 season.
The report suggested that the BCC Hooligans Programme, shown in May has caused many sponsors to pull out of deals with the Bluebirds.
The programme, which showed Bluebirds Chairman, Sam Hammam mixing with members of the hooligans group, The Soul Crew has given the club and Hammam terrible publicity.
"This time last year Cardiff had sold over 15,500 shirts. But the club haven't been able to deliver any because of potential backers pulling out late. City have suffered because of poor publicity." Said a Ninian Park insider.
Cardiff do have a sponsorship contract with Redrow Homes, who will sponsor the Family Stand for the next 4 years, and John Smith's who will take over as sponsors for the Grangend.
Whoever the shirt sponsor is, it is likely to be a bigger name company than we have seen before. Cardiff's sponsors in recent years have included local newspaper, The South Wales Echo, restaurant, The Sports Café and last year, Ken Thorne World of Cars was written on the shirts.
Many City fans will remember the famous season, where children's cartoon, Super Ted sponsored the Mighty Bluebirds!
