The agony of being a Cardiff City fan continues, after a trip which took nearly nine hours to watch a game in a ground 45 minutes from home, virtually finished our chances of promotion.
Here's how they lined up for the derby...
Cardiff City (4-4-2): Alexander; Weston, Prior, Gabbidon, Barker; Ainsworth, Boland (Whalley, 77), Kavanagh, Legg (Campbell, 77); Thorne, Earnshaw.
Substitutes not used: Croft, Bonner, Walton (gk).
The agony of being a Cardiff City fan continues, after a trip which took nearly nine hours to watch a game in a ground 45 minutes from home, virtually finished our chances of promotion. The organisation of the coaches meant a slow and circular route but at least did ensure the game was trouble free “off the pitch”.
It is now 32 years since Cardiff beat Bristol City in a league game, it could be another 32 at this rate!
Cardiff have now lost three in a row, haven’t scored in any of them and are staring down the barrel of the play-offs at best and the possibility of missing out altogether
Let’s make no excuses, the Robins staked a claim for automatic promotion with a crucial and deserved win over Cardiff City side, who despite looking pumped up before the game and after half-time never looked like doing anything but lose this one.
Second-half goals by Brian Tinnion (penalty), and the former Cardiff striker Christian Roberts produced a copy of the result and scorers at Ninian Park in December.
The first half was pretty even to be fair and played at 100 miles an hour however after the break, the home side took the lead via a penalty. Danny Coles' long ball sent Scott Murray clear and, as he ran towards goal, the linesman flagged for handball by Danny Gabbidon.
Bristol sealed the result with a typical crisp Brisol City goal - Murray crossed from the right for Christian Roberts to beat an unprotected Alexander. Despite being taunted by the travelling Cardif fans Roberts’ ( a Cardiff fan and former player ) did not celebrate the goal.
At the other end Robert Earnshaw’s nightmare continues, he looked completely out of it, and the free scoring Earnie does not seem to know when the next goal is going to come from. The same could be said for most of the team
