Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson is happy to let Luke Chadwick come on loan to Cardiff and the deal now hinges on Chadwick's decision.

The 22 year-old will be desperate to get some valuable regular first-team football and he recently made his feelings public about his frustration over being kept out of the Manchester United XI. The only thing that could stop Chadwick making a temporary move to South Wales is that his wife is pregnant and he wants to make sure that the move is best for his family.

Lawrence is confident that Chadwick will join the Bluebirds. "I have spoken to Sir Alex and he has agreed to a loan deal, although there is still a lot of work to do I am hopeful we can bring Luke to Cardiff City".

Should Chadwick sign he will be the second player that Lawrence has brought it on loan. Blackburn Rovers' winger has signed until the end of the season and picked up the Man of the Match award on his home debut against Oldham Athletic last Friday.

The F.A's new rules state that Cardiff are allowed to loan up to four players at any one time, and Lawrence already has his eyes on Fulham's Andy Melville and Huddersifield Town's Steve Jenkins.
