You mean if Dalmiya was not at the helm, these tours would not have happened?

The first "Test" starts in a few hours...

Good to see India has enough resources to field TWO FULL A squads...smiling smiley

Yes precisely what I noticed...India has enouhg strength to put out two A squads of 15 eeach...a little inconsistent with the second squad...but heartening neverthless

Once again the failure to go for the kill...

Had NZ A 106 for 6 before the tail wagged and reached 310...

But in fairness this is NZ and they always bat with a tail that is as good as the top 6...smiling smiley

In case of NZ that has pretty much always been the case...

Or less charitably...their top order is like a tail...smiling smiley

well India neds to seriously add weight to their lower order.
The way game is going these days...you need controubtion for all the 11 with the bat.
espeicall when the golder era of Sehwag, Gambhir, tendulkar VVSL all at their prime in a super heavy top order is finished.

Ashwin at 8 and Bhuvnesh at 9 can bat.
we need runs from 10 and 11 also

and 18 year old Zol cracks a hundred on making a debut.....in an A-test match.

why selectors pluck him from junior cricket and throw him staright in an A-test match ??

It's is the perennial hunt in India and Pak for the next teenage prodigy......the Hassan Raza, Afridid, Aqib, Mushtaq ( Mohammed), more recently Amir...the success stories Wasim and waqr.......
and in India...Siva, Prabhakar, Razdan, Kambli, sodhi , Kaif, yuvraj and the BIG success Tendulkar.

it's a gamble on our next teenaged prodigy that will be a world beater in records and serve us for the next 20 years.

If Zol does keep doing well against NZ-A and in the FC season to follow.....he might short circuit some of the older names

here is an article on his very humble background coming from a Mofussil , nonedescript of a town.

I had heard of him...he was I believe part of in India U-19 winning the World cup in Australia...

Still says something about the power of cricket that a guy who has not done that much in Senior level Indian cricket... has three storey tall hoardings of him in his home town...

Noticed that India "A" v.2 captain Abhishek Nayar also scored an unbeaten century...

He is a gritty player...though with limited natural abilities...may be suited to a Test match all rounders role... as pace bowling all rounder..

he bowls at 115kph......and that's not muh of an allrounder...he was at one time 120kph.

Suryakumar yadav is younger....a much more aggressive batsmamn average 52 an SR 80+ ( reminds us of someone) and bowls medium pace seam up also....also from Mumbai

Well with Stuart Binny flopping and Abhishek Nayar...slowing down...good to know there may be another candidate...

In the meantime why is Irfan Pathan totally ignored? he bats as well as Suresh Raina or Yuvraj in Tests...and can be a good third seamer...

Injured????!!!

They took him to England for the Champions Trophy... but didn't play him in a single game..

England would have been ideal for his swing type bolwing...

But that would have threatened Dhoni favorite Ishant...

Zaheer can make one more burst...if he proves his fitness in the FC season.

I would take him to SA and even if he lasts one test bowling at full potential he can be a match winner.
