Hoddle hails new signing McNamara

WOLVES Manager Glenn Hoddle has hailed new signing Jackie McNamara. The Scottish International signed from Celtic on Tuesday afternoon. New Page 1 New Page 2 New Page 1

Wolves fought off tough competition for McNamara but got their man after the 2004 Scottish Footballer of the year signed a two year deal at Wolves after he rejected a lucrative offer from Celtic.

Glenn Hoddle told the clubs official website "Jackie is someone who I watched when I was with Spurs - I've been monitoring him for quite some time now. He is a good acquisition for Wolves. He has played at the top level and has been a great servant for Celtic. He is very consistent, has terrific all round strength and he can play in numerous positions.

  "And the thing about him is that he is up for it. He wants a challenge. Jackie is a very good and very fit professional who plays a lot of football."

McNamara's wife is due to have a child this week, but the former Celtic Captain is expected to return to Molineux on June 27th when the players return to pre-season training.
