WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS were today relegated from the top flight of English Football, despite beating Everton 2-1 at Molineux. Henri Camara and Carl Cort bagged the Wolves goals.

It's all over. It was just 339 days since that magnificent day in Cardiff. However, tonight Wolverhampton Wanderers start to prepare for life back in the Football League following relegation out of the Barclaycard Premiership.

Manchester City's win over Newcastle United at the City Of Manchester Stadium was enough to relegate Wolves, irrespective of the result at Molineux. However the performance against the men from Liverpool ensured Wolves went down fighting.

 The atmosphere at Molineux was electric once more and the second half performance matched the noise being generated from the sell-out crowd.

Henri Camara struck a goal of the month contender from 20yrds after 55 minutes. The Senegal International struck his shot past the impressive Martyn off the underside of the crossbar. It was Camara's sixth goal in his last seven games.

The partnership between Camara and Cort has been superb in recent weeks and will be a huge asset in the Football League. 

Un-surprisingly it was Cort who bagged his fourth goal in five games to ensure Wolves took hold of all three points. The giant striker leaped highest and headed Naylor's in-swinging free kick past Martyn into the top corner.

The result pales into insignificance following Manchester City's win but everyone can hold their heads up high. We all gave it our best shot but the lack of quality finally showed through.

Life in the Football League next season will be hard. However we are getting better game by game. All we must do now is ensure our visit back to the lower league is only a flying visit.
