With premier league survival all but guaranteed last weekend, Wolves now hope to look up the table rather than over their shoulder. On that note, Molineux welcomes Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow afternoon with a 2pm kick off. The three points at Portman Road were vital and were provided along with a very good performance to equal it ….. great pictures of our winning team too, non-better than the now pretty famous Andre selfie!! Ultimately Pereira has got us playing and with 4 wins, one draw and one defeat in the last six league matches, form and points have both picked up considerably too. That includes three wins and a draw during the games without Cunha. Why did we worry?!  

On that point, Mattheus Cunha is back, the suspension is over however Pereira has already confirmed he wants to keep to the same winning starting line up versus Spurs with Cunha on the bench … although surely he will get on the pitch. At least we don’t have to think about the starting line-up, it’s become very settled.

Spurs have mixed form of late, beating Southampton last weekend, their first league victory since thrashing Ipswich 4-1 on February 22^nd. Additionally, our game with Spurs in December was a great point for Wolves in the very early Vitor days, two brilliant goals from Hwang and Larsen. Is there a sense Spurs are there for the taking? Definitely not, but it is winnable, Spurs have lost five of their last six away games (all competitions) and Wolves must feel confident, deservedly so after a run of positive results and in the knowledge that victory will put us just two points behind them. Additionally our recent record versus Spurs will provide added positivity. It’s certainly a fixture where goals can be expected, two sides who have provided the top total goal tally this season, Spurs matches resulting in 103 goals (F58 A45) and Wolves 102 (F43 A59).

If we win, it’ll be four wins on the trot, the first time to achieve this in the top flight since January 1972, the month I made my very first visit to Molineux when we drew! Strand Larsen is also looking to score in his fourth consecutive match which demonstrates how he has stepped up.

I hope everyone enjoys the game, unfortunately it will not be televised live, one of three premier league fixtures to kick off at 2pm. I will not be able to provide updates for this game as I and a few other Ivybridge Wolves will be cheering them on from the North Bank. Looking forward to it!

Wolves XI: Sa, Doherty, Semedo, Toti, Agbadou, Ait-Nouri, Andre, Joao Gomes, Bellegarde, Munetsi, Strand Larsen.

Same again, Cunha on the bench, but we knew that. UTW!

With the threat of relegation disappearing it may allow the squad to be more expressive and confident and Spurs could be there for the taking. Let's hope so.
Cmon lads, let's start to finish the season with a swagger.

4-2 to Wolves. And a nice goal from substitute Cuhna after yet another Spurs defensive blunder. We overtook West Ham, now only 2 points adrift of Spurs (bye bye Ange).

It was a great day last sunday, Spurs were quite poor, especially defensively and we well and truly punished them. Six goals in a match, Wolves score four, the best since 1972, what’s not to like, 12 points out of 12, Strand Larsen scores for the forth match in a row, the joy of the day flew us home in the car afterwards.

Additionally:

For those Molineux Way readers and contributors who may not know, at the match last Sunday it was the annual Fans Memorial Day when supporters names who have died in the last year are shown and commemorated as part of a very moving sequence on the video screen at half time as well as printed in the programme. It is fitting that as part of this memorial, our very own Cheshire Wolf (Steve Webber) was named and remembered. I wanted to let you know.
