Wolves travel to the Amex stadium for their second away game in five days, to take on a team who they have struggled against in their recent Premier League history, having failed to beat them in the last ten encounters.
Having suffered the heartbreak of losing at Old Trafford to a 94th minute deflected goal Nuno Espirito Santo will surely be concentrating on the positives from the match, to try and earn three points against struggling Brighton and Hove Albion today. The young players he brought in all earned praise for their performances against a very strong United team, and it will be interesting to see how many of them are picked for today's game. Three points are needed for Wolves to prevent them falling too far from the top half of the table, whilst Brighton are also in dire need of only their third win of the season to avoid a potential relegation battle.
Whilst Jonny and Raul Jiminez will definitely be missing today it remains to be seen whether Leander Dendoncker or Willy Boly will be fit enough to be part of the sqaud, or whether Marcal has recovered from the injury he sustained at Burnley. Another question will be whether Nuno continues with the back three of Coady, Saiss and Kilman who played so well together on Tuesday or reverts to a back four again. It is perhaps reasonable to presume that Daniel Podence will return to the attacking line-up having started the last match on the bench.
The match will feature as the early evening kick-off on Sky TV at 5:30pm, and our referee will be Chris Kavanagh - who interestingly has yet to brandish a red card this season.
This board will be updated regularly with the progress of the game, and members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to watch it.

This is the first Brighton v Wolves fixture I have missed since March 2015.
The stats are below, give an indication of just how hard we seem to find beating Brighton

Personally, I'd like to see the back four tried again, I think it is a more attacking formation when we are not playing the top side .... take the match to them.

Definitely need three points from this match to steady the ship a little bit.
We have the team to really test Brighton defence if we start with that intention and are not too timid in our approach. Recent matches have shown that we can work well in attack, just need to maintain that offence for the full 90 minutes and not sit too deep.

Two changes for this evening's starting Xl, with Fabio Silva and Nelson Semedo replacing Hoever and Kilman, with what looks like Ivy's wish answered with a back four. Podence must be injured and the strange thing is Nuno has two keepers on what is a weak bench! Line-up:
Wow, that substitutes bench is unreal. I suppose that with the schools not opening for a while they are all allowed out to play.
Will be interesting to see which of those youngsters gets their chance tonight. I would like to see Theo Corbeanu given an outing, he has been getting good reviews in the U23s

Wolves kick off. BHA on the attack immediately but dealt with. Vitinha sees up Joao for first shot but it’s tame
Exciting run by Neto but fires wide. Poor pass back from RAN neatly our Saiss in a spot but he dealt with it well.
First corner to Wolves cleared but Semedo puts it back in on to Saiss’s head for another corner, then a third! Long corner cleared by their tall defence.
Connolly gets in ahead of Rui and puts BHA ahead for a sloppy goal

RAN puts a good cross into the area towards Silva but cleared for another corner. Traore facing 3 defenders on the right wing. Joao sets up Neves on edge of the area & his shot is deflected for another corner. Put over to Semedo who crosses for Saiss to head into the corner

Bissouma Booked after bringing RAN down. Connolly makes an acrobatic shot which well caught by Rui. BHA look quite threatening when they get into the box.

Wolves are soaking up the pressure - as usual - then trying to break. Adama hasn’t seen much of the ball yet, but he sets up Neto who puts a ball over which is headed out for a corner. Neto puts ball across which the goalie struggles with and it goes in off the defender

Neto’s shot was deflected which may have led to the keeper mishandling it on to his defender - but we’ll take it!!!

Great cross field pass from Neves to set up Neto to cross for the own goal. Plenty of humour in a goal like that when it’s not your defence who have cocked it up!! 😂
The keeper should have done a great deal better, it just hit Solly March, not much he could have done.

Fabulous run up right wing by Adama ends in a foul by Burn & a penalty to us for Neves to get his first for a year, sending the keeper wrong way

Let’s hope we can go to an even bigger defeat of them and improve our goal difference somewhat

Yep, got it wrong for the the OG, instead it was a nightmare couple of minutes for Dan Burn who scored the OG and who Traore absolutely skinned for a very easy penalty decision for the ref!
Lovely composed Neves penalty.
Very composed half except a moment of madness in the defence. Thought we’ve played well within ourselves, decent passing and ball retention, nothing dramatic, just good play and without doubt the better side. Neto, once again a real threat, Neves good in midfield.
Wouldn’t it be great to get another three in the second half.

Seem to have wrested control of the match after a dismal start.
Saiss could be a contender as Rauls replacement if he keeps scoring like that.
RAN is really gaining in confidence and is effective racing down the touch line, Semedo also playing well.

Brighton have come out to attack us this half. All a bit untidy for wolves at the moment. Need to get the ball and keep possession
BHA putting us under lot of pressure at the moment, but we defend well. Good defending to deny Vitinha after more good work by Adama
Now Burn gets a yellow card for pulling Adama back. He should have had his first card when he gave pen away! Neves meets the free kick but scuffs the ground hurting his ankle too

What has happened this half. Credit to Brighton, they woken up and have created far, far more but we have shrunk as an attacking force. We need to keep the ball and hope for a little magic from someone

We seem to have run out of ideas and I don’t think there’s anyone on the bench who could really make a difference. We need a win but at the moment a draw would look like a good result. Otasowie being prepared
RAN sets Neto free up the left but it hits his knee & goes out. Owen O earns a fee kick. 3 added minutes to play. Yellow card for Semedo for delaying play. Free kick put into our area & Semedo puts it out for a corner, which goes for another corner then two of our players nearly conspire to fail.

Only Wolves can manage to present as two completely different teams in one match.
Again we seemed to surrender the midfield when Vithina was taken off might have been better to replace him with Otasawie rather than Kilman at that stage. Must give Brighton credit for not caving in but we were guilty of giving them a helping hand.
So frustrating!,!!!

What a bloody disappointment. A very good first half, it felt very comfortable and some good football for a 3-1 score line which was completely flipped after that poor tackle from Moutinho which totally change the course of the match.
A great goal from Saiss in the first half with some decent play in general but after the Brighton penalty in the second half, whether we had 3, 4 or 5 at the back, we looked second best. In fact the pressure Brighton put upon us was ultimately too much to bear ....... without any real threat or outlet up front. Put plainly we were outplayed in that second half. It might have been even worse if the ref hadn’t blown when Ait Nouri fell and the Brighton lad was through ...... or one of the other opportunities Brighton generated.
And then, the miss of the match from Otasowie with the last touch of the match. Superb play from Traore (possibly the only thing he did in the second half) and the lad headed over from how far ,,,,,, 4 yards, centre of goal. Agonising. To be fair to Otasowie, you can’t blame him for us dropping 2 points tonight, it’s the rest of the team.
Completely and utterly frustrating evening of football. I suppose many will say what a great game and how entertaining it was. I just found the last 45 nervy and agonising to watch.
Credit to Brighton for coming back so strongly, we on the other hand had no answers and dropped 2 more points. At present, our league position does not lie.

Three goals away from home should be enough to win the match. Brighton are one of the few sides that find scoring as difficult as we do and we concede three against them. From being in complete control we threw it away.
Daft challenge by our most experienced player. And am I being too harsh on Patricio to say he should have done better for the first goal?
The blood is still surging at the moment and I will probably think differently in the cold light of day but, and I know they are young and learning the game and showing potential and everything else, I am starting to struggle with Fabio. Only 18 or not he should be doing better by now. As for the Otasawie header, no wonder he sat in the net for five minutes wondering what had happened.
One saving grace, at least that guy Burn doesn't play for us.
