Wolves fans and Raul Jimenez no longer need to look over their shoulder ….. at least not worrying about potential bids for Jimenez’s services after he signed a long term contract to keep him at Wolves until 2024. Raul has scored 46 goals in 103 appearances, an excellent record and a significant part of our fantastic Premier League story so far. It’s not just his goals to admire, his overall commitment and effort on the pitch is an example to many and to top it all he seems like a nice chap too! The other great news is Conor Coady has signed a contract to keep him at Molineux until 2025 and the fact he’s been called up for England again is a testament to the all round excellent form and leadership he so regularly displays. Congratulations Conor, the modern day Mr Wolves!
That’s the good news. The bad news has been our dreadful form in the last two matches versus West Ham and Stoke and I’d include the first 45 v Man City too. Last Sunday in the Olympic Stadium was a horror show, the likes we haven’t really seen in the Nuno era and so on Sunday afternoon, back at Molineux the Wolves team have the opportunity to set the record straight against versus Fulham who are themselves desperate for points, having lost their first 3 matches and rock bottom at this early stage.
Will Nuno shake the pack up? Changes in defence, give Kilman a go who looked promising when given the opportunity last season, put Boly back on the left hand side? Changes in midfield, get The Donk back in the side, a bit of guile to do the ugly stuff and break up play, support and link up with the front line a bit more? On the positive, I’m looking forward to seeing Semedo again, he provided some of the few positive moments last weekend and hopefully Traore, Neto and Jimenez causing some problems. Apparently Marcal and Podence are injury doubts.
Certainly I think we should all expect a much brighter more attacking performance against The Cottagers, whilst recognising the potential banana skin this fixture represents …… all things being equal we should anticipate a comfortable win!! Trouble is any side with Mitrovic in seems to give us problems!
Enjoy the match folks, it’s on Sky at 2pm. It would be lovely to win in style, perhaps getting closer to our Blades performance but at this stage I’d take a grim watch and a bobbling ball off someone’s rear end creeping over the line to give us a win!

i expect wolves to win but it is rarely comfortable.. even against lower league sides we rarely batter teams. I expect the same boring negative dross first half with a 0-0 scoreline and an improved performance second half as usual with wolves winning by a couple of goals with Traore getting us out of jail again.
I’m watching Leicester v West Ham. HT and Hammers are winning very well 2-0. Perhaps we weren’t so cr&p after all last week? Then again ........
I also anticipate a ‘steady pace’ today if I’m honest, but live in hope. I’m concerned we’ve lost our forward thinking with speed of play and thought. That’s what set us aside from others over the the last few years. Time will tell and the team will be announced soon.

Nuno has indeed gone for Kilman and placed Saiss in midfield. Podence fit and plays, The Donk is in too with Moutinho, Traore and Vinagre dropped, the former two onto the bench.

Well our lads aren’t filling me with confidence yet!! We’re struggling to be on terms with F’ham so far.
Brilliant double save from the Fulham keeper, the first from Neto , the second looked a cert from Semedo. Excellent keeping. Alas.

I hope the people saying selling Doc was great business are hanging their heads in shame.. he has been one of our best players for years
Great corner and near post flick on from Jimenez exposed the problems we have. Nobody gambled to get in on the flick, a brilliant flick, and so the chance goes begging. If Jimenez doesn’t score from such positions, who will?
At least Fulham are a little quieter and are less imposing that earlier.
41 gone. Not a great spectacle. I agree with Chesh, Semedo looks our most promising player today.

Semedo is a class act , better than doc but he isnt suited to this silly system .. if you call this a " system " as no one has a clue where they should be. Semedo is a better dribbler than doc but we miss the cross field long passes which this team is built on spreading play to the flanks

The poor form continues. But for a superb save, we could easily be winning ..... I would have taken that ...... but the team are not playing well.

Disappointing first half to say the least. I’m sitting in a bar in Turkey watching this sitting next to some Fulham fans and it’s been very quiet for the past 45 minutes - something like the net two weeks will be for me when I get home!! I can’t help but notice how much we are missing Jonny - Saiss certainly is no substitute for him. Kilman has held his own OK but I think Podence has been pretty innocuous. No doubt we will be relieved to see Traore when he comes on but hope he plays through the middle.

You certainly get around Cheshire, not sure how you manage to wear a mask for hours on a plane.
Neves has no pace, what does he offer exactly? A long range shot that may go in 5 times a season but normally flies over the bar like a rugby kick for Wigan. There is no movement , straight passing and as mentioned earlier we miss Docs cross field passes and Jonny which created angles for our attacking play - without those two we are what we are... a limited side with some quality players like Traore/ Jimenez who may get us out of jail again.

Talk about space, Fulham had the freedom of Molineux, Mitrovic sets Kamara up on a plate who tamely passes it to Patricio. What a let off. Another Coady touch prevents a Fulham goal.

There’s a cog missing from this Wolves machine, let’s hope that Nuno manages to find it or it’s going to be a long frustrating season.
All over and not a particularly strong performance but a valuable win to help settle the nerves. Neto, Podence, Semedo, Hoever and whoever is going to replace Jonny need time settle into the team and gel with the more established team members in my view, but that time is not easy to find!
Fulham had some good play until the final third - I’m sure Leeds will be more dangerous in a few weeks time.

is that what they call an ugly win. In any event two wins, two losses. Middle of the pack, time to get them all playing together. Except of course they will all be off on international duty. Long season indeed.

Hanging on against a team as dire as Fulham shows a mid table finish is the best we can hope for with no European football before the 22/23 season at the earliest by the look of it.

Not just on the plane Angry!! Three hours in the airport (except when eating/drinking) then 4 hours on the plane from Manchester, then an hour on a coach!! Still to spend nine days in temperatures of approx 30 degrees just before winter comes probably makes it worthwhile. Not sure about the two weeks isolation when we get home yet though!!

I was hoping for a more improved performance however, I’m sure we all were. It didn’t happen. I only hope the win injects a bit of confidence in the squad. Can’t see Leeds quaking in their boots for our next league fixture and on that basis, we are nowhere near 7th in the league again.
I thought we were better in that second half but only marginally and mainly early on .... but how on earth Kamara fluffed that chance to make it 1-1 is beyond me.

We have more wins and more points than at the same stage last season and Coady probably our best player. That's about all the positives I can think of.

Not great was it but a wins a win I suppose. Build up play just way to slow. We have to find a way of creating more chances. I'm sure NUNO will sort it,I hope so anyway because that was so boring today.
It looks like football has gone mad... Liverpool down 4-1 against the vile??
Well its a win but dire stuff..... hopefully the international break gives Nuno a chance to sort it out. A Huff nd Puff win. Very predictable.
