After probably only their second full week without a midweek game so far this season, Wolves will be keen to get back on to the Molineux pitch and seek three points against United. 

Coach Nuno Espirito Santo will be keen to avoid a third consecutive Premiership defeat for Wolves after their disappointing result at Watford last week, and will be seeking to reward the home faithful with a better performance than against Manchester United in FA Cup tie.

Wolves still have Willy Boly and Diogo Jota unfit to play, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White is apparently now fit to play. As expected Patrick Cutrone has departed on loan to Italian team Fiorentina, so Benny Ashley-Seal may find himself part of the match day squad again.

Or referee will be Peter Bankes, who also controlled our recent away game at Norwich.

I have secured a last minute ticket to attend the game, so will be unable to provide the usual level of commentary. Meanwhile board members are encouraged to post their observations of the game for the benefit of those unable to follow it.

Ivybridge and I have met up and had a bit of lubrication prior to the game!! I will try and give you an update at half time - signal depending.

Starting Xl Patricio, Donk, Coady, Saiss, Doc, Joao, Neves, Jonny, Adama, Raul & Neto

We huffed and we puffed but we lost two points that were there for the taking.
Having controlled the majority of the game we again could not find the cutting edge we so obviously lack. The main attacking route is from wide and some variation and some passes through the middle would give the opposition something else to think about instead of concentrating on nullifying our wide players. No poor performances from any of the players but no standout either.

I couldn’t agree more LH. It was a very frustrating game to watch, with the back theee constantly passing it from side to side, and no threatening play through the middle at all. Neves and Joao are great at passing it through midfield but present very little attacking threat through the middle of the park. I also think teams are becoming aware of where our threat comes from and are planning to nullify it like they did today. Having said that Newcastle were pretty bloody dreadful and the referee had an awful game!!

In one sense, you could say we were unlucky - 2 great saves this week (like Romero’s one last week) and a scramble hooked off the line, however that wouldn’t reflect the whole match and I fully agree it’s 2 points lost. We really made hard work of it in the second half, and as Newcastle set up their lines, we possessed little idea of how to break them down. What’s more we had little variety available on the bench to mix it up. Bar a couple of chances, a really frustrating watch which had 1-1 stamped all over it for the majority of the second 45. We just don’t seem to get anybody into the box when we do have promising moments - several times today, Jimenez was the lone soldier in the box, ably marked by up to 5 black and white shirts!
Onto Southampton next ....... good grief they’ve hit form haven’t they!? I’ll be there.

Pretty feeble stuff. Watched without joy. I was one of the screamers who did not want Bruce here after Mad Micks demise.
I was thinking Rafa or perhaps Jose but not Terry.
