Expecting another wholehearted effort today but fear the quality gap is too great to envisage coming away with any points.

So... three changes for today's match, which include the return of Ruben Neves to midfield, playing alongside Leander Dendoncker who makes his first PL start. Morgan Gibbs-White drops to the bench to be replaced by Cavaleiro. Line-up:

Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Neves, Dendoncker, Jonny, Cavaleiro, Jimenez, Traore

Subs: Ruddy, Saiss, Vinagre, Gibbs-White, Moutinho, Costa, Bonatini

Traore effective so far

Son tries to copy Kane, but just past goal. Spurs' passing is sublime at times

Great play from Traore & Raul to get a corner. Comes out Neves but he shoots wide from outside area

Excellent defensive play by CC

Erickson trips Traore & gets a yellow card.

More good defending by CC. Wolves doing their best to attack when they have chance

How's Dendoncker doing?

Half time and Spurs lead through a moment of pure quality from Harry Kane MBE, an excellent left footed shot curled in - Patricio got a hand to it but had little chance of keeping it out.
Wolves have threatened quite well, but Spurs play a high line at the back & it makes it difficult for our midfield.
Dendocker looks comfortable alongside Neves, and Traore & Raul have worked well together up front.
Connor Coady defending exceptionally well once again, but Rui has been sloppy at times.
Spurs extremely fluid in their passing and movement, so I don't expect a repeat of the Chelsea result but at least we are still in the game

I didn't see the goal very clearly but I think it was from a corner. Play much more even so far this half.

What a bloody win!

Make no mistake, no fluke today or anything resembling it!

A complete and utter privilege to be there.

Spurs, to be honest, were the better side first half and you could only admire the pure quality of Kanes goal. It was a cracker!

However if ever the phrase, a game of two halves (Jimmy Greaves circa 1988 or so) was invented for a match, then it was today!

Second half we were simply magnificent. At Wembley. Yes, Wembley, the first time since the Sherpa Van Trophy, we were magnificent. The main problem being that I was stuck in with the Spurs fans! How I ever managed to control my emotions I’ll never know but within reason I did however those close to my seat had no doubt what and who I was!

We completely controlled the second 45. We were incredible, superb ans superior! By 70 minutes, I was worried. All this great play and nothing to show for it. I needn’t have fretted!

Wonderful. Exquisit. Outstanding! And I was there!

Andy - Coady had a great game, and unfortunately the MoTD version of the game failed to highlight it. He made a superb block to prevent a goal in the first half, but overall it is his reading of the game and calm interventions and solid tackles that are so impressive plus his passing out to our wings.

Alan Shearer did heap praise on Willy Boly - rightfully. I thought he had a superb game, again being so calm in possession and distribution, plus of course the way he directed his header for the goal after Spurs overlooked the threat he poses at set pieces.

A word also for our front two. I thought Traore probably had his best game for us yet, making several threatening runs, some of which had good final balls!! He still goes to ground too easily for my liking, but he appeared to be enjoying the game y'day, and it was a shame when he needed to go off with a possible injury. Jimenez had another really good game too. He covers so much of the pitch and I think a lot of his work goes unnoticed. He does his share of defending and is becoming quite skilled at holding the ball up and bring the rest of the attack into play. He really deserved his goal and took it with aplomb.

The whole team deserved real credit for the win yesterday, Neves was excellent, and full marks to Costa for taking his first goal of the season so coolly.

I was absolutely delighted for Ivybridge Wolf to be there and witness such a good win - we spoke earlier in the week and neither of us expected to get anything out of the match in truth!!
