Well it was a disapointing result yesterday on my first visit to the John Smith's Stadium. Below is the ratings from off the Express and Star site and I have also added what I thought.

CARL IKEME 
Another away game, another goal he could do nothing about and another quiet rest of the 90 minutes. A coup;e of regulation saves straight at him in the first half but Ikeme was a spectator after the break. 7/10 

Agreed on this. Had very little to do and no chance with the goal. However was lucky in first half when he took too long with a backpass and almost got caught out. 

CONOR COADY 
A testing start to the game with Rajiv van la Parra on fire. But more than held his own and eventually the Dutchman switched flanks. In the second half he was an attacking threat – bombed forward after winning the ball to set up Joao Teixeira's effort against the post. Also sent a deflected shot just wide. Continues to impress at right back. A better option than Iorfa on current form. 8/10 

Can't argue with this, man of the match for us I thought. 

DOMINIC IORFA 
What is wrong with him at the moment? Just doesn't look himself. Nervous in possession and always looks like he's got a mistake in him. Current form typified when he played the ball directly out for a corner when trying to pass to Ikeme. With Silvio and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson to press for a place, Coady playing well at right back and possibly another centre half to sign soon, Iorfa's bad form has come at the wrong time. 6/10 

Again correct except for the rating. A 6 is very generous, I would have give him a 5 at most. 

DANNY BATTH 
The game's pivotal moment came as a result of a sloppy error from Batth when he let the ball slip under his foot. Improved as the game went on and had a good second half, but it's that early mistake that cost Wolves so dearly. 6/10 

He made that one mistake but was other wise sound at the back. I would have maybe given him a 7. 

MATT DOHERTY 
Like Coady, and indeed most of his team mates, he struggled early on. But over the course of the 90 minutes he was one of Wolves' best attacking outlets. Teed up Saville for a shot which whistled over and created his own chance when he cut inside and fired at the keeper. 8/10 

Without a doubt was our best player behind Coady, Defensive wise he needs to improve but attacking ability was very good. 

DAVID EDWARDS 
Another who has yet to get going this season. A Euro 2016 hangover perhaps? He doesn't look as sharp or as effective as last season yet. 6/10 

Agreed, Did not look like he was ever going to get into the game. A 5 for me. 

JACK PRICE 
A poor game for the popular midfielder. At just the wrong time, too, with defensive midfielder Romain Saiss on his way. Particularly in the first half he failed to give adequate protection to the back four, and misplaced a number of passes. 5/10 

I like Jack Price and think he gives his all, however this was not his day. 3 or 4 would have been a more true reflection on his performance. 

GEORGE SAVILLE 
A sluggish start with a few passes that went astray. Looked better on the left wing when Zenga switched to 4-4-1-1 – he went close to scoring with a decent right-footed effort, and got up well at the back stick to almost set up Edwards. But in general he was off the pace and it was no surprise to see him withdrawn. 5/10 

Agreed. 

JOE MASON 
Wolves' busiest attacking threat in the first half and had a goal chalked off for offside. Clattered in the box in the second half but the referee somehow deemed it not to be a penalty. Not as effective as in recent weeks. 6/10 

Agree here also, And I feel it was a penalty as the defender clearly barged into him. 

JON DADI BODVARSSON 
Wasn't on his team-mates' wavelength – and vice versa – in the first half, when he looked frustrated at his lack of service. More involved after the break with Wolves bombing forward. Won a number of headers, including of course that golden second half chance from Teixeira's corner. A wonderful save denied him, but he'll know he should have scored. 6/10 

I thought he did well and it was a case of the midfield not helping him out rather then him not on his team mates wavelength. Ran after lost causes and won a lot of flick ons. Unlucky with the header as it was a great save. I would have said a 7. 

JED WALLACE 
A disappointment after playing so well against Blues and Cambridge. Just never got in the game. Taken off at half time. 5/10 

More of a 4. Don't recall seeing him do anything all game. 

SUBSTITUTES 

JOAO TEIXEIRA (FOR WALLACE, 45) 
A lively second half performance. So unlucky not to score when his 25-yard shot hit the post. Sent over a perfect corner for Bodvarsson's chance too and generally helped galvanise the team. 7/10 

A quality player and must start games. We also need to attack his corners as he floats them into good positions. Agree with a 7. 

HELDER COSTA (FOR SAVILLE, 61) 
Another impressive cameo from the flying winger, who must be due a start in the league now? Offered something different, full of running and stretched the Huddersfield defence. 7/10 

Another quality player who should start games. Links up well and has pace. 

PRINCE ONIANGUE (FOR EDWARDS, 73) 
Far more effective than in his previous two appearances. Broke forward from midfield and was far more involved in the game. Desperately close to a late equaliser with an acrobatic effort that whistled wide. 7/10 

Starting to settle, but needs more game time. Again has some pace and another who chases a lost cause. A 6 for me.

Cheers Badge. It's normally me that applies the 'Jonah' touch when I go and see Wolves. I'm happy to hand the mantle to you! Hope you enjoyed the day however.

Regards our good mate VPL, strange how he can get motivated / contribute for certain matches then fail so badly the majority of the time. It's like he needs something to get himself going, in this case playing us. Yes he scored, but glad he's gone.
