I am going to change the way I do the head to heads as of today.  Usally I give all results against our opponents for home and away games but from now on I will only do either home or away. This way I will not be repeating myself for both games. I will continue to state overall record of stats but that is all. Today We visit the New York Stadium, The home of Rotherham United.

This will be the 14th time that Wolves have travelled to face Rotherham United but will be only the second time they have gone to the New York Stadium. Last season saw the two sides face each other four days before christmas day and served up a six goal treat. Nouha Dicko was on loan to Rotherham at the time and scored two goals past us to give the home side a 3-1 lead. However Sacko and Henry tied things up.

The first meeting between the two sides at Millmoor was a 3-0 win to Wolves in a FA Cup fourth round replay in 1965.

The first league meeting came in September of 1965 which saw Rotherham come out on top of a seven goal thriller. 11,653 turned up at Millmoor to see a 4-3 home victory. Wolves had to wait 20 years before gaining a league win over Rotherham at Millmoor thanks to a 2-1 scoreline. However a month later Wolves played Rotherham in the FA Cup first round and got thumped 6-0.

The two sides also shared an eight goal thriller in the second round of the Worthington's Cup in 2002. Newton, Miller, Rea and a Rob Scott own goal in the dying seconds sent the game into a penalty shoot-out which the home side won 4-2.
