WOLVES boss Mick McCarthy signed his first player today; Brazilian creative midfield man Gui Finkler.

Brazilian midfielder Gui Finkler today signed on loan until the end of the season, with Wolves having an exclusive option to buy the 20 year old at any time during the loan spell for £100,000.

Finkler has become Mick McCarthy's first signing since starting as Wolves boss on Monday and the former Sunderland boss took advice from the current Wolves coaching staff who have been monitoring Finkler over the last few weeks.

Finkler joined Wolves on trial at the start of pre-season and scored two goals in the 4-0 win over Hednesford Town in the clubs first pre-season game. The second was a superb 25 yard free kick and his clinical finishing was the talk of the town during the Spanish Training camp earlier this month.

Speaking to the clubs official website, the new signing said "I am very please to be a Wolves player now because I have been waiting for a decision,"

  "This is my first opportunity to come and play football in Europe and I think it is very special to come to play in England. I hope to do a good job for the fans. This is my first time away from Brazil and it is a bit complicated because I do not speak English. But I am going to learn quickly."

Finkler is the second player Wolves have snapped up this summer with the first being former Sunderland captain and central defender Gary Breen.
