Team Summary:
The final practice session would commence with the Haas cars out first with
the soft tyre being used. Raikkonen and both Aston Martin cars were running
as times started to be set with Raikkonen setting a 1m:31.378 on the soft.
Both Astons Martins would pit leaving just three cars running. Both Mercedes
weer now running both on the hard tyre. A 1m:30.622 from Raikkonen as both
Ferrari's also come out for their first runs. They would be joined by both
Alpines and Perez all on the soft tyre. A 1m:30.394 from Bottas with ten
minutes of the session completed. But Raikkonen would go quicker with a

Verstappen took to the track. The first of the Williams was now running
along with both AlphaTauri's cars using the medium tyre.
Hamilton was now quickest with a 1m:29.605 followed by Bottas and Raikkonen.
Norris was now fourth from Giovinazzi, Alonso, Perez, Sainz, Ocon, and
Mazepin tenth. Sainz was now second as Hamilton would go off at Turn one
after a front brake lockup. Verstappen on the soft tyre was now third as
Perez went fastest only to see Hamilton go quicker with a 1m:29.197 with
Bottas again second. Perez was third followed by Norris, Sainz, Verstappen,
Giovinazzi, Ocon, Gasly and Raikkonen now tenth. The Williams cars were now
12th and 15th after their first timed laps. Gasly would jump up to be second
ahead of Sainz and Norris.
Verstappen was able to move into second ahead of Gasly but he was on the
soft tyre. Bottas had dropped to be seventh as both Vettel and Stroll came
out on the soft tyre. Verstappen would go quickest with a 1m:28.212 to lead
Hamilton by 0.102s. With under fifteen minutes remaining the order was
Verstappen, Hamilton, Gasly, Perez, Tsunoda, Bottas, Sainz, Leclerc, Norris
and Giovinazzi tenth. The Williams cars were currently 15th and 16th as
Verstappen improved with a 1m:28.105. Tsunoda was now up to third ahead of
Gasly. But Perez would improve to be third ahead of the AlphaTauri's. Bottas
was now sixth from Leclerc, Sainz, Ocon, and Norris tenth.
The Williams drivers were now 16th and 18th with Stroll moving into 15th and
the Williams pair split by Vettel as the session came to an end. Both
drivers had improved over Friday but unfortunately so had everyone else. All
the drivers were able to complete practice starts on the grid prior to
returning to their pits. Where does this leave Williams for qualifying. Was
looking like at best they could hope to see at least one car in Q2.
Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would take to the track for his first run using the soft tyre. A
1m:31.092 from Nicholas to be ninth. This would become 12th despite
improving with a 1m:30.436. Nicholas would find time with a 1m:30.366 but
again would remain 12th. Nicholas would pit after a seven lap run on the
soft tyre dropping to 15th as he sat in his pit. With twenty minutes
remaining Nicholas would return again on the soft tyre. But he would pit
after a two lap run failing to improve. He would return after a brief stop
and after a five lap run he would pit again. Nicholas commented that he felt
that he may have tapped the wall. Probably explains why he pitted early on
his latest soft tyre run.
George Russell:
With forty two minutes remaining George would come out for his first run
also on the soft tyre. A 1m:31.096 from George put him just behind his
team-mate. But he would drop to to 16th pitting after a seven lap run on the
soft tyre. George had commented to his engineer to his engineer " ... high
speed balance seems ok but rear does not feel great through 13. Consider
rear ride height". George would return again on the soft tyre. He would
improve with a 1m:30.167 to be 15th moving ahead of his team-mate. He would
pit after a seven lap soft tyre run ending his session. |
