In the Belgian Grand Prix driver interviews the sale of the Williams Racing Team was the focus of attention when team drivers Nicholas Latifi and George Russell were interviewed. Both George and Nicholas would comment in regard to the sale and how they welcomed Williams Racing and saw the change of ownership as a positive move that can only help the team as they continue to improve over the previous years.

The team had announced that they would be carrying out a review of the options to see the team move forward including the possible sale of the team. It was the complete sale option that the Williams management would choose and it was announced that the U.S.-based Dorilton Capital had secured ownership of the Williams company which includes the Formula One team.

Nicholas would comment on this by saying: “Overall, I think it's a very positive step for Williams. It’s secured the future, the stability of the team which is first and foremost the most important thing.

“In terms of what changes do I think need to be made, I think that’s more for them to decide. Overall it can only be positive.”

"I think in the coming days, weeks, months, they're going to be evaluating everything, like any company would when they're acquiring a new company, and see where the investment needs to be diverted to.

"I think overall, it can only be positive."

As for what the future holds Dorilton have said they intend to continue with the Williams name. But that they will be carrying out a review of the management structure of the team. Currently the team is headed by Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams but with the review this could change in the future.

Russell added: “I spoke with Matthew Savage this morning who is the chairman of the company (Dorilton). At the moment they are in a full review of what changes need to be made (and) who will be forming the management side of the company.”

"I think the most important thing with this change of ownership is the name and that side of things will be continuing, which is very important, obviously.

"The Williams family would not have sold to somebody who they didn't believe would be beneficial for the team moving forward.

"And I'm very pleased that they've come to that decision, because they believe that is the best for the future of a team.

"And like I said, the culture will not be changing from a historic side.

"Keeping the name of the team is very important as well for us drivers and the people back at base."
