The ROKiT Williams team would complete their normal Frdiay running in the second Friday practice session for the 2019 Canadian GP. They would finish in the not surprising positions of slowest with George Russell leading Robert Kubica. Robert had returned to his car after having see Reserve driver Nicholas Latifi take his spot in FP1. After completing soft tyre runs, whcih would see George and Robert separated by just 0.2s, the pair would complete tyre evaluations of the medium and hard tyre on longer runs.

Canadian GP Friday 2nd Practice
Team Summary:
A Williams driver would go briefly quickest in the second Friday practice
session but the first representative time would come from Sainz with a
1m:16.303. More drivers would set times with Leclerc going quickest with a
1m:14.009 running on the medium tyre. He was followed by Vettel and Albon
all on the same tyre. Vettel would improve with a 1m:13.966 followed by
Leclerc, Perez, Magnussen, Albon and Sainz in sixth. But Hamilton would move
ahead with a new quickest time of 1m:12.938 running on the medium tyre.
Bottas was now second but on the hard tyre. Hulkenberg was now fifth.
Leclerc would move ahead of Vettel with both Ferrari's improving their
times. On the soft compound tyre Bottas would set a 1m:12.311 while Vettel
on the same tyre would move ahead with a 1m:12.251. Leclerc was now third
followed by Magnussen and Hamilton. Hamilton was forced to pit after having
hit the wall with his left rear wheel and badly damaging it. He would not
return in the session.
With fifty minutes remaining the Williams drivers were slowest 0.7 behind
the next fastest car on the soft tyre. Leclerc was now quickest with a
1m:12.177 leading his team-mate. Ricciardo and Hulkenberg were sixth and
seventh. Sainz was now in fourth and Perez seventh as other drivers
completed soft tyre runs. Stroll was now tenth while both Williams drivers
would complete another soft tyre run with the gap closing between the pair.
Both drivers would also come out for a further soft tyre run with twenty
five minutes remaining. Both Williams drivers were on long fuel runs as they
completed their tyre evaluations as the session came to an end. Leclerc
would remain fastest from Vettel, Bottas, Sainz, Magnussen, Hamilton, Perez,
Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, and Stroll tenth. For Williams the gap between their
drivers was just 0.2 which is encouraging given that Robert had not run in
the previous session.
Robert Kubica:
After seeing Nicholas Latifi in his car in FP1 Robert would return for the
second Friday session. Robert would be first out running on the medium tyre.
Robert would set a 1m:21.712 improving with a 1m:19.530.Robert would
continue to improve with a 1m:17.750 to be slowest. Robert would pit after
an eight lap run. Robert would return for a soft tyre run setting a
1m:15.809 to be 0.425 behind George. He would pit after a seven lap run.
Robert would join his team-mate back out again on the soft tyre. Robert
would find time with a 1m:15.287 to be just 0.251 behind his team-mate. He
would pit after a six lap run. Robert would also come out for a further soft
tyre run also with twenty five minutes remaining. Robert would also pit
changing to the medium tyre. Robert would pit after a sixteen lap run.
George Russell:
With fifteen minutes of the session complete George would be running on the
soft tyre. He would set a 1m:16.004 to be ahead of his team-mate. He would
continue to improve with a 1m:15.384. George would pit after an eight lap
run. Forty five minutes remaining and George would return again on the soft
tyre. He would set a 1m:15.036 pitting after a five lap run. Twenty five
minutes remaining and George would return again on the soft tyre. But George
would pit switching to a hard tyre run. George would pit after a fourteen
lap run completing a practice pit stop taking on the soft tyres and then
returning back to his pit again returning still on the soft tyre. He would
again pit ending his session.
