Speculation in Formula 1 never stops. Now that Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been confirmed at OrangeArrows, all eyes are now looking up and down the grid trying to predict where the recently released Jos Verstappen will go next. A test seat at Toyota, or Jordan perhaps ? The Toyota angle is the most solid one. In a recent interview with F1Racing.net Mika Salo stated quite clearly that he would like Jos Verstappen to come and join him at the team as a test driver. The Finn also stated that he wasn't at all happy at the way tat the team were handling the driver situation.

On the back of this interview, and in following up todays news, F1Racing.net have been quick to try and find out whether Toyota are officially interested in the Dutchman. The F1 news site reports that Toyota has not had any contact with Verstappen. "Our team is not talking with Verstappen about a position within the team, " a spokesperson for Toyota has been quoted as saying. "We will announce our test driver before the end of the month though."

As for Jordan, well Verstappen did test for the Silverstone based team in 2000 amid huge rumours that Damon Hill was going to quit the team, so there is at least some history there. On the downside, Jordan had stated that they wanted to get as much track time as possible for new rookie Takuma Sato and as such were not actively looking for a test driver. I wonder if their view on that has changed now ?
