EPS and Saxons squads due to be announced at 11am tomorrow, already reported that Tom Wood is to be England captain.

Can't think too many of our boys will make the full squad. Davey and Big Dave, maybe JJ and Webber.

The Saxons might have a few mor though.

I'd be surprised if Eastmond isn't picked. Possibly at the expense of Barritt, perhaps even Joseph

Davey and Webber definitely. Maybe Attwood/Kylie. JJ will be a Saxon.

Alastair Eykyn seems pretty confident that Eastmond and Attwood will be named in the EPS (alongside other newcomers Billy Vunipola and Matt Kvesic).

Doesn't sound like a captaincy announcement will be made today though.

I would expect Webber, Wilson, Attwood all to feature & one of Eastmond or JJ.

The back who misses out should make the Saxons- may also be places there for Fearns, Banahan &Abendanon.

Agree with you Stuart Webber a good bet for captain now!

Astonished that Webber has been left out after his performances at end of last AP season & in Argentina.

I wonder if Fearns recent scrape lost him a Saxons place?

Abendanon & Banahan have some ground to make up, but I would back Banners to force his way back up the pecking order if Bath play him as a wing.

I could understand the inclusion of Hartley and Ashton if they were anygood but Ashton couldn't score in Amsterdam and Hartley is just an idiot on the rugby field. Webber must be annoyed about that having played so well in Argentina.

Very surprised Rob Webber isn't in the EPS and Hartley is retained. I think that this will be temporary though as Rob gets stronger following injury last year.

Great news for Kyle as he continues to develop - the doubters now need to accept that every coach that has had a look at Kyle has been impressed by him.

England will solve their attacking limitations by including Kyle, Marlon & Christian.

The grunt is added by Dave Attwood who just goes to show that hard work will pay off. Well don Dave.

I am nothing but impressed with the England management of late. I think Stuart Lancaster gets it right nearly all of the time and is very fair and constructive in his approach to the players fighting for the shirts.

Can't really argue with either Full or Saxons squad really. Think he has got it exactly right.

Ashton is a very lucky boy!

TBH I did not expect Webber to be in the squad at Hartley's expense, but as one of 3 hookers.

on both points Lancaster has something interesting to say:

"He accepts that and he knows he need a strong start to the season with Northampton as changes can be made with Rob Webber and David Paice pushing hard."

"Unfortunately we can only have 33 in the Senior EPS but those who just missed out have plenty to offer. They are still very much in the international picture and there is flexibility built into the system that facilitates that," added Lancaster".


Webber should take heart from both comments.

10/10 - @bathrugby's @kyle_eastmond7 maintained a 100% tackle success rate (10/10) in England's Tests with Argentina this summer. Graduate.

So pleased for him. Let's hope he can force his way into the 22.

Where is Old Bathonian to comment on Kyle when you need him?

There was some stat about Barrett/Faz/Goode/Brown scoring only a handful of tries between them in tests. I would prefer to see a Burns/Twelvetrees/Tuilagi midfield with Tait (or Brown) at 15 and Wade and May on the wings. We can't match Wales and co for power but we can beat them with pace. We can't go back to Goode at 15 and Brown on the wing.

Wade and May on the wings against North and Cuthbert... interesting tactic.

Agree, think Twelvetrees and Tuilagi centre, Wade and May wing and then either of Foden, Brown or Goode full back. Unfortunately May is in Saxons, but him and Wade are our best two wingers in my opinion.
