Leeds Tykes official website (www.leedsrugby.com) today indicated that Saracens have secured the services of Leeds Tykes’ scrum-half Alan Dickens on a one-year contract for the 2005-2006 season. Realising that his chances of regular rugby will diminish with the arrival of All-Black legend Justin Marshall, Dickens, knowing that he is behind Mark McMillon already in the Tykes’ pecking order he was weighing up the option of returning to teaching when Saracens came in with an offer.

With Kyran Bracken looking likely to stay on for another year and Mosese Rauluni already established at Sarries the former Sale Shark (surprise-surprise!) Dickens acknowledges that breaking into the match-day 22 at Sarries won’t be easy –

"I will still have a fight on my hands to get in at Sarries but I feel I'll have more of a chance there than at Leeds."

The arrival of Dickens will add to speculation being banded around thesaracens.co.uk that Canadian Morgan Williams is due to move on at the end of the season.
