Sorrell called up at last!

By Jason Harris
May 28 2002

Saracens centre Kevin Sorrell has finally been called into the full England squad by Clive Woodward for the forthcoming tour to Argentina. After a glourious 2000-01 season when 25-year-old played brilliantly for his club and as a result scooped all four Sarries' Player of the Year awards. All that was missing was a call-up to the England squad.

Sorrell watched on as his younger threequarter partners Ben Johnston and Tom Shanklin were given places in the England and Wales squads respectively and went about his Sarries business without any fuss but with maximum impact.

This time around Sorrell, after his England debut in the non-cap game against the Barbarians, joins his mates Johnston and Sarries prop David Flatman on the plane to Buenos Aires.

Meanwhile, Sarries' England regulars Richard Hill and Kyran Bracken are taking a well-deserved rest as the young guns try to win the series against the Pumas.
