REAL TIME STORM

I couldn't resist putting together this wonderful commentary on the Storm Bath game from Whyitsnevereasy. Many thanks to him and his tiring fingers for keeping us updated and entertained

Car booked in for MOT (beaten up old focus) but all being well and it passes, I’ll be leaving Edlesborough about 6 ish for the game if anyone in Hemel wants a lift down as I pass through tonight (about 6.15) pm me.

Underway at Allianz

Storm penalty halfway line - kicked to the corner - comes to nothing. Storm penalised at scrum, Bath kick to our 22. Penalty kick to Bath is good 0-3

Storm throwing it around but a few handling errors: Sarries muller Bath’s put in and kick to the corner. Sarries drive over and Vunisa scores. Great kick from out wide by Spencer 7-3.

Porecki off for a head injury assessment. Bath pressure results in a Bath try. Conversion missed 7-8 -quite a few Bath fans here tonight.

Barrington substituted, Ransom running rings around everyone. Sustained Sarries pressure and Spencer gets a kick at goal and gets it 10-8. Nathan misjudges a high ball, Bath attacking - try Bath! Conversion good ,10-15. Straight back the other end and twice Storm fail to use the overlap; disappointing. Storm torn apart by a length of the field break but Bath knock on near the line. Sarries work it clear. Bath backs looking very elusive with ball in hand, lots of niggling little mistakes in Storm play.

Sarries steal Bath lineout and fast hands work it wide for Matt Gallagher to touch down - great try! Conversion good 17 -15 and that is half time.

Underway after the break. Penalty attempt good from Spencer straight away Storm 20-15. Another penalty attempt good by Spencer and that was a huge hoof 23-15! Storm steal Bath lineout but even Earle isn’t quick enough to catch that kick through. Bath drop the high kick, Nick Tompkins pounces on the mistakes, runs between two defenders and is in under the posts! Conversion good, 30-15

Funniest moment of the night: HRHRH has just been followed by a young lady into the gents toilets

Storm seeing much more of the ball this half. Now Bath kick deep into Storm territory, Storm really soaking up the pressure, Bath penalty kicked to Storm 5m line. Storm under real pressure on their own line. Massive work rate in defence and they win a penalty a metre from their line. Massive effort there. Sarries a little on the back foot for the time being but still 30-15, just.

Storm can’t get out of their own territory but win a scrum to relieve the pressure a little; another penalty to the corner for Bath; yet more immense defence and Storm break clear only for the move to finish 5m out! This has been hard graft - a real team effort. Bath penalty right into the corner. Another penalty to Bath into the corner. Bath get pushed into touch as the “big bad wolf” rings out over the tannoy.

Yellow card Wilkins and yet again Bath go to the corner. Now scrum 5, Sarries put in and unbelievably Sarries clear their lines again - great game to watch!

And that folks, is the end. Storm win 30-15. They all put in a massive shift tonight.

Good night folks
