If we can't beat Bristol at home, we don't really deserve to stay up.

Newcastle have beaten Wuss twice so only need to equal their pts total to finish above them. They need more pts than Leicester if it comes down to it.

Where teams are equal in the table on points, positions shall be determined firstly by the number of wins achieved and then on the basis of match points differential. A Club with a larger number of wins shall be placed higher than a Club with the same number of league points but fewer wins.

If Clubs have equal league points and equal number of wins then a Club with a larger difference between match points “for” and match points “against” shall be placed higher in the Premiership League than a Club with a smaller difference between match points “for” and match points “against”.

"Should two Clubs have the same number of league points and the same match points difference, the Club having scored more match points “for” shall be placed higher in the Premiership League than the Club having the lesser number of match points “for”.

If the above does not establish different Premiership League positions then the Club in the higher position shall be the Club that has achieved the higher aggregate match points scored by it in the same season against the other Club.

If this still does not establish the position then the Club who has won the most matches, excluding its first Premiership League match of the season, then its second Premiership League match and so on, until it can be established which the higher placed Club is."

Not sure I agree with the sentiment JK, if we finish bottom of the pile we don't deserve to stay up.

Bristol are capable of beating us at Welford Rd, I just hope they don't.

As it stands, in theory, Bath, Sale and Bris. could still finish 4th or be relegated, though most of that will be sorted at the w/e. What won't be sorted on Fri. is our battle. Even if Newc. lose we will still have work to do on Sat.

That's somewhat derogatory and arrogant given what Bristol did to Leicester at Ashton Gate.

In addition to that, the table doesn't lie. Currently, Bristol have been a better team than Leicester.

A few years ago for sure this kind of presumptiveness would be justified. But not this season and not with this Bristol team.

Leicester still have some bloody good players and I think will be safe, can regroup and potentially come back better for it next season.

Bristol supporters could say that if Brisol don't beat this poorly performing Leicester team they don't deserve to stay up, but I'd like to think we are a little more respectful and a lot less arrogant than that.

That was the only post on here of that view. Most of us take nothing for granted this season against any side, let alone one who humped us at their place and run at us!

If we do win in Sat. How much, if any, of the credit should go to Ford senior and should the club give him a long term contract?. The fact that we are regarding the avoidance of relegation as some sort of success shoes just how far we have sunk.

If they do it will be yet another example of knee jerk management and zero strategic planning.
Saracens didn't get where they are by stumbling from one idea to the next, and (probably) neither did we when we were good.

Agree, Ian, and, of course, nothing comes into play until and unless we get clear of relegation.

I hope Mike Ford’s influence keeps us up, get to top 6 at a stretch. That said we need a thoroughly thought through (what a lot of th, ou & gh ) approach not opportunistic or kne jerk response to our direction.
That doesn’t rule him out.

When the boy George came back he divided opinion, at best, but now seems to have won us all over, been our best player this season by a bit of a distance. It's possible senior could do the same but I am not holding my breath

George has really taken a leadership position and is one of the few to have consistently stepped up to the mark in a team underperforming.

Correct on both points 'Stops'. The really annoying thing for me is that it only needs a 10% increase in performance and effort and we would be playing for top 6.

A win tomorrow would give us 12 points and we will be safe.

Murphy has to be replaced by a top DOR who is then responsible for recruiting his own coaching team. Only then can we start to rebuild properly. We have just been plugging coaching holes for too long. Truly amateur from the board.
Signing a few forwards who can make ground may also help. Abject from top to bottom

I have spent the past few hours really thinking about our future and have come to a rather drastic conclusion. We need relegation!
If we stay up, nothing will change. The same coaching team will run the same sessions/plays that have failed so badly this season. The same players will still lack physicality, leadership and togetherness. The same exec will make the same tired excuses and expect change without actually implementing any.
We are at a stage where revolution is the only way. The only chance of that occurring is if we get relegated. A top class DOR appointment is the only way we will ever start to compete again. Why are the exec so arrogant that they think we can compete with both hands tied behind our backs! We are at a crossroads and drastic action is required. Unfortunately we will stay up (cannot believe I am actually saying that), we will have the same coaching team, our forwards will still only receive the ball whilst standing still, their only movement will be a backwards one and the exec will roll out the same tired excuses that they have got the past 5 years. I need a drink!!!!

needing relegation to force the drastic change thst seem to be needed, is something some of us talked about on the train ride home too.
Otherwise will we just continue muddling on below mediocrity.
Pretty sad situation really.

`Unlike the infamous chant, we are @#$%&, be we don`t know we are .this club has dropped so far into the mire that without a poorly funded Falcons we would be the worst team in the Premiership by a country mile, we are a club that deserves everything we get . Sadly for Falcons they will get relegated with far more spirit and nous than the bunch of pretenders wearing a Tigers shirt. I am done with this BOD , its churn of Coaches and squad has produced this inevitable garbage , but will survive because we have by default avoided the drop. If Peter Thom doesn`t resign we are destined for further humiliatitions next season. #
