Thanks to those of you who have already sent in their poems for the Neil Back poem competition to win a caricature of the man himself created by our very own Inkworm. If you have been inspired send your entry to leicestertiger@yahoo.co.uk.
Eau de Neil - BozzKat
Backy he is good
Backy he is great
He makes a meal of any SCRUM (half)
And doesn't get home late (for his tea)
Backy likes a challenge
He makes the enemy shudder
He is renowned - for getting down
And scoring tries for the Tigers (hurrrrragh!)

Backy plays for Tigers,
A team not renowned for fighters,
At number 7 he plays,
Every month he gets paid,
And I'm sure that he also gets laid.
He provides us with entertainment galore,
Some of which are against rugby law,
But to see him cry,
Or to hear him lie,
I'd string him up by his tie.
The fight would be fast and furious,
But the mess would be less than glorious,
Cos if his wrist lost the part,
That made the final an art,
Then that would be the end of the apple cart,
For Backy.

Naughty boy when involving scrums
Eager to work hard then play hard
Important to us and Woody
Leicester's favourite flanker (sorry Josh!)
Brings us a lift to the team when are doing badly
Always wanting to do that little extra to make things happen
Carries the ball from the line-out over the line
Kills the ball like its a BP player

There once was a player called Back,
who after his faux pas,
still wasn't given the sack.
He began his game Nineteen-ninety,
making the Tigers backs real mighty.
Hes travelled to the land of Aus,
And even learnt to cope with Oz!
Over the seas to tackle the Boks,
He beat 'em all - bless their lil' socks!
Voted a Player of the Year,
his supporters let out a big cheer
while supping their beer!
Seasoned & wise,
hes good at telling little white lies!
Renowned for a hat-trick,
Hes as good as our D. Dick
so don't let anyone take the mick!
Hurrah for Backy!!!! - ra
Our first, most magnificent seven
the perfectly formed Mr Back.
His rugby skills varied and many
that most other opensides lack.
He's fast to the ball at the breakdown
(and never goes down off his feet).
His catching and passing's a poem
and in fast open play he is fleet.
He can lead when our captain is carded
or otherwise absent from play
And though I have heard he's a neat freak
he'll get down and get dirty all day.
The pushover try is his trademark
but not the extent of his skill,
we've seen it on many occasions
but it still gives the faithful a thrill.
So all gather round to salute him
a Tiger of Tigers I feel
a hero of games without number
I give you
the inimitable
Neil!
