Martin Shaw's signing for Bristol Shoguns was confirmed last Thursday and he is looking forward to scoring against Sale. Speaking about the move, he has shown few regrets about leaving his old club. The two year deal sees him teaming up with fellow former Newcastle Falcons Ross Beattie and Garath Archer.

"When I joined Sale I didn’t know anyone and it took time to settle. But I already feel at home here", Martin told the official Bristol website.

"Since leaving Newcastle I haven’t played with a dominant pack, but Bristol Shoguns have a very good set of forwards. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the ball and experiencing some of the back play that Bristol Shoguns fans witnessed last season."

Well, Sale's back play is hardly slovenly but perhaps it's a fair point that he'll get more ball at Bristol. But hopefully that does not mean that he will be scoring more tries than he did at Sale. For Bristol suffered at Shaw's hands in our league match in April when he scored a hat-trick, and he went on to say:

"I'd love to go on and score a few more this year. It would be great to score against both Sale and Newcastle."

Yeah, great.
