What's Gigg Lane like?

A new name and a new stadium? 2002/2003 was to be the last season that Sale (North West) Sharks would play at Heywood Road but increasingly it seems that we might be moving earlier than planned, Gigg Lane in Bury being the likely target. Gigg Lane has a capacity of 11,840. Renovations took place between 1993 and 1999 which saw new stands being built and new facilities being added.

We have been told that Brian Kennedy's people will spend around four weeks looking into the viability of buying Bury Football Club and the Gigg Lane stadium, but I wouldn't be surprised if a decision didn't come sooner - reports have even suggested that the deal would be done by the weekend. I reckon that most Sale fans won't have visited Gigg Lane so I've gathered a few pictures to give you an idea of what it would be like. They are from www.footballgroundguide.co.uk.
