Two-thirds go for Friday

We have played three Friday night league games now and won them all. Attendances at these games have been, without exception, approaching the maximum possible. Last Saturday's crowd was 1000 down on the Friday night average to date. Official attendances at home games this season are as follows:

London Irish (Saturday) 4514
Harlequins 5612
Leicester 5678 (Full)
Northampton 5313

So, at this early stage, the change seems to have been a successful one. Hopefully we will continue to see these capacity crowds at Heywood Road on Fridays, Saturdays and even the occasional Sunday. And though there are inevitably people who can't attend Friday games, it feels like the overall attitude towards Friday rugby is becoming a lot more positive.

In the site poll last week only 35% of voters claimed that they always thought Fridays were a good idea, but in total 63% are in favour of it now. However a sizeable two-fifths of respondents are still not convinced.
