Welbeck strolled to victory in the final of the Chad Cup played at Mansfield Hosiery Mills ground on Sunday (21st). In the 30 overs a side game, Welbeck were comfortable six wicket winners.

In reply, Welbeck never looked in trouble, despite losing quick wickets towards the end. Malc Brown top scored with an impressive 43 including a succession of crushing boundaries. Brown was ably assisted by Mark Sills who contributed 26 to see Welbeck home to their first Chad Cup since 1993. The man of the match award went to young Ball for his fine 8-over spell which removed three of the top four Cuckney batsmenat a time when Cuckney were looking to accelerate.
