Stockport Left-Back Peter Clark has joined fellow Division 2 team Mansfield Town on a 3 Month Loan Deal. With a mixed start to the season, this probably spells the end to his County career with Palmer wanted to make room for a player he has been tracking.
The Former Carlisle player was signed on a free transfer back in the year 2000.
He showed great promise in his first season at the club with some strong, solid performances in his native left back position.
He scored one of the most memorable goals of that season in our 2-0 win over high-flying Fulham with a fantastic solo effort.
Last season, however, injury's forced him out of the side for much of the season. And when fit he found himself battling for a place in the squad Carlton has formed during his absence.
Palmer is thought to be tracking a left back that has been watched by county officials, and this move was to make room in our big squad. A player is doubtful to come in before the Cup game against Lincoln on Tuesday in which Martin Pemberton is expected to return after recovering from an eye injury.
