Tommy Mathews was kicking penalties from distance at Goldington Road a couple of weeks ago. Keep clean, Saints!

Edoardo Todaro is still with the Italian U20s too, not sure why he’s been left off the unavailable list. I make that 27 unavailable players!

Had forgotten that Hinckley is with Cov now. I wonder how he’ll go.

Todaro is still in the Junior Academy, so not a pro. Yet!

Three former Saints will be looking to make an impression. But, despite the absentees, we should still have enough quality and firepower on the field.

They won handily at Welford Road and pushed us very close away. I’m quite concerned about this one, but hopeful we can come through. Can’t afford to start like we did against Nottingham, but made for a great game. Have really enjoyed this competition this season. Hopefully our run can continue.

This could well be a very tight game. Coventry gave Nottingham a bit of a hiding last week, a team who we only scraped past previously and they'll be keen to avenge their loss to us as Butts Park.

Worth keeping an eye on Obinna Nkwocha, I thought we were close to signing him last season and he's very highly rated, so if we are in the market for an additional lock (and not wanting to break the bank, as is often the case) he could be a good pick-up.

What's happened to Jake Garside? He appears to have well and truly slipped down the pecking order.

I'm presuming this is not on television or streamed anywhere? I am really interested to find out how the young guy fare.

Nothing at all on TV. Radio Northampton will, of course, be there.

That's what I figured, but thought it didn't hurt to ask. Appreciate it.

A good win yesterday, but if the results go with current form we may get an away game at Quins?

Could be Sale at home. They have a crunch game against Newcastle

Unlikely to be Sale. Newcastle will surely beat Caldy today. Quins away looks the most likely at the mo’……assuming we get at least a point at Nottingham.

If I have this right, the current position is:

QF

Exeter v Glaws
Falcons v Ealing
Bath v Sale
Quins v Saints

SF

Exeter/ Glaws v Quins/Saints
Falcons/Ealing v Bath/Sale

Just for fun, all change next weekend. Saints need to win a 5 pointer and then hope that at least one of Quins or Bath slip up as we are unlikely to match the points difference of Chiefs or Falcons even if they scored no actual points from their games.

I really enjoyed watching the game. A much bigger crowd than I expected given the England match at 4.45. Lots of good performances but in particular, Fyn Brown was outstanding: huge work rate with and without the ball and carried very powerfully. He’s a big unit too. I guess a lock/6 hybrid? But very effective at 8 on Saturday.

I too enjoyed the game despite the miserable conditions with Cov showing great determination to defend their line when under constant pressure for the opening 20 minutes. For the Saints it is encouraging to see more of the young and inexperienced players getting an opportunity to shine.

Who amongst the young'uns looked good?

Difficult to judge given the radio being the only full-game report. Highlights on Northampton Saints TV are only 5 minutes but suggest Pasco is coming on nicely.
Lockett once again VG.
Wright too.
Fyn Brown earned good reviews.
Tom James was VG.
GMC VG.

I saw the highlights as well, but agree it is only shows when players look good. I am glad Lockett seemed to do well. I think he has a high ceiling, but needs consistent minutes (which I think he is now receiving).

We were there.

Lockett excellent as was Brown. GMC did not have a great first quarter but improved as the game went on and contributed well overall.

Thanks. I'm not yet sold on GMC but think Lockett has a real future.

Given the game time he's had, I think he can really kick on. Just during the Cup games has seen a marked improvement.

As for Lockett - he's really beginning to make his presence felt. That try he scored against Cov was superb.
