Here's Pete's third set of Summer Quiz Questions! As in previous rounds, please don't use search engines to look up answers for posting. It defeats the purpose of the piece, as well as ruining the effort Pete has made. No merit is gained either way as questions are intended for fun. If you only know part of an answer, put it up for the discussion of others - it might lead us to the whole answer! Expanding on an answer, giving full reasoning is positively encouraged - so away we go again...

Just realised you are asking for the odd one out - I think I am right about the Maserati Spartan but if not then I guess its that one
Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 2016:06:30:07:03:10 by Ian Spokes.
12 This is Renoir's celebrity endorsement of the 'new' paint tube (like a toothpaste tube) which replaced something else (I don't know what) and made paint easy to transport.
Don't know any others (that haven't been answered by others) although numbers 1 and 5 are niggling at me.
Thanks Pete, good fun and I look forward to the answers.
2 Rock. St Peter " on this rock". Rock around the Clock etc
3 Hampton Court is the Palace Built for Cardinal Wolsey
5Jeanette Winterton wrote Oranges are not the only fruit
15 Waterloo and Austerlitz both Napoleonic War battles and stations
Good going so far - some very good answers - bizarre alternatives I never even thought of - and yes one error on part due to using my imagination rather than checking a " fact "
1. I am trying to link them with flowers
Baroness Orcsy - Pimpernel
James Elroy - Dhalia
Tennessee Williams Rose??
Dumas ?????
I think theyve written plays/books with Flowers in their title but Im stumped on Dumas and not sure on Williams.
Clegthorpe I think it's flowers of a stated colour, Wee Jim; Dumas wrote the Black Tulip. No idea about the Tennessee Williams.
James Ellroy wrote the Black Dahlia
Alexandre Dumas wrote the Black Tulip
Indeed, and, as Wee Jim suggested, Baroness Orczy wrote The Scarlet Pimpernel, but what flower of what colour did Tennessee Williams write? The urge to Google it is strong, but I am resisting for now....
I think its just Flowers - thanks for the Black Tulip by Dumas. There is a Tennessee Williams play that is Rose something. Im thinking Rose Tattoo but that may be my penchant for Angry Anderson and Australian Rock groups
Although 6 was already answered with the flute as all the rest are reed instruments, I'd like to post an alternative - the saxophone, which is not found in the woodwind section of an orchestra.

Well between you - its almost all done - I must try harder.
Only Two questions have no right or even close to right answer . Both are Odd ones out.
and just to clarify Saxophones have been and are included in the wind sections of symphony orchestras - several pieces require them and Mr Saxe ( one of the few famous Belgians ) invented the instrument with the intention that it would be a fully used orchestral instrument.
When I first read Q 9 I assumed that it would be an etymological question, but I can't for the life of me come up with a single odd one out on that basis. They all have Greek roots except Radiographer and Speech Therapist, which are both English/Greek hybrids, but that is as far as I can get.
I'll try again - is st. Joan the only one that was resident or even visited the country she is patron saint of. To be honest I'm actually only guessing that she is patron saint of France.
well - a very serious intervention Ben G . prefer the blonde to the brown - haven't tried the nectar - Lidl sell a very pleasant Blanche De Namur which I quite like.
St Corkst - what can I say other than you are not on the right track nothing to do with residency - it is as I have said above based on a very common misapprehension.
I've been wrestling with No.8 for a few days and each of them could be the odd one out for one or more reasons: the only one to have been a disciple, the only woman, etc; but I've rejected most of them.
The one answer that I that I think could be what Pete is looking for is St Patrick. He died a natural death whereas all the others were killed for their belief.
