The big weekend came and went and no doubt the Quins fraternity all enjoyed themselves. The Vets landed some silverware to their cabinet by winning the Plate Trophy. Captained by Geoff Anampiu and coached by Ken Thimba competition for places in this team was fierce and in the end they did receive reward for their efforts. Kudos to them as they at the same time managed to land a provisional invite to the Dubai Sevens Vets competition in December 2006. Over to you Geoff for the next event.

The Quins 7 did well to getting to the Bowl final . After a difficult day 1 they had a much better day 2 where they humbled two African national teams Botswana and Zambia. They came a cropper at Bowl Final where they lost 19-10 to Kenya's second team Shujaa. They can only do better. Looking forward to seeing you at the Safari Sevens 2007. Well in!

The Quins Kweens did well losing to the Mwamba ladies in the final. Their outstanding performance was beating Keele University from England 35-0 in a match where Adelaide Nsambu, Irene Namai, Janet Awuor, Kate Anampiu and Irene Owino were outstanding. They did not let the Quin down. Keep it up.

Emerging Boks from South Africa beat Zimbabwe in the main cup final after they had booted Kenya out in the semi final.

Felix Ochieng from Quins and a veteran national team player was honoured by the tournament for having played continuously in the Safari Sevens since 1996 and this may be his last as a national team player as he contemplates hanging his national boots and dedicating the rest of his rugby to Quins.

This week sees us back to the league where the first fifteen take on Mwamba while the seconds are away to Blak Blad in a first leg ESS quarter final game. The hunt for the ESS title is still on. With Mwamba it is assuming a grudge match of proportions as there are issues to be sorted out between the two clubs. This promises to be a thriller.

Let's all be there to support the lads as we are still on top of the Kenya Cup league. We cannot avoid anymore slip ups. See you at the club tomorrow.

On the social side congratulations go out to James Absaloms Juma and Martin Ndeda, both former Quins who tied the knot with their respective partners on the 14th and 17th June respectively.


Back at the ranch we wish to express our gratitude to Philip Jalango for donating training equipment to the team. Thanks and the Quins family salutes you.

As the club is very active this month we request members to pay their subscriptions in order to help finance and support the activities of the club. June is indeed a busy month and word just in is that in July we shall be playing Mombasa RFC at the coast in an Enterprise Cup game quarterfinal game. Please support the efforts of the club.
