Kenya Harlequins Update 5/5/2006

Last weekend saw us reach the quarterfinals of the Nakuru 10s where we were stopped in our tracks 12-7 by neighbours Impala. That marked the end of our participation. This weekend the seconds play Mwamba 2 in an Eric Shirley game while the First team has a breather. Lets support the seconds and be at the club from 2pm tomorrow.

Quins have completed the signing of Victor Sudi Simiyu , former Kenya 7s captain from Impala. Sudi joins his brother Namcos who had signed a month back. We await the rest of the brothers. The Simiyu brothers will add a lot of punch in the Quins attack when we finally get all our players back from the 15s and 7s national team assignments and coaches as well.

Safari Sevens is here with us next month June 16, 17 and 18. Quins will be parading 3 teams namely Quins 7s, Quins Vets and Quins Kweens. This is a call to the veterans to come in large numbers and train. As first time finalists last year we aim to go one better and emerge champions in the 3 categories we are participating. All should come and support the 3 teams prior to the tournament. Eliud Siganga is the Veterans Convenor.
