A busy weekend for Quins as they played 2 more build up matches. The 2nd XV met Impala (who came back for more punishment again), while the 1st XV squared it out with USIU after Nondies cried chicken with claims of Bird Flu. Impala seemingly gaining in their 3rd consecutive match with Quins were this time beaten 18-13 in what was a very entertaining end to end game. For the firsts it was a mismatch of some sorts as they humbled USIU 46 -3 in a very one sided game. They could have done with stiffer competition had the chickens not gone AWOL. To make matters for USIU, two of their players immediately signed up after the game with Quins. One of the players being Kenya 7s international Lewis Olaka.

This week sees the Rhinos Franchise build up for the Super Series as the Chairman's team makes their final preparations in defence of their title. An international game on the cards this weekend as the national team coached by our very own Quin Thomas Odundo takes on South African franchise side, the Southern Spears at Kasarani Stadium. The game will be on Saturday and kick off is at 4pm. The Southern Spears are bidding to play in next years Super 14 competition.

On the political side the Kenya Rugby Football Union held its AGM yesterday where a new broom swept through. Quins Ham Onsando lost his post as Vice Chairman while David Abuoga's first shot at Treasurer was scuttled. Eliud Sigangas attempts at becoming a Director were shot down as he ran out of votes at the final bend. Paul Nyamodi had earlier stepped down from contesting the Secretaryship as he sought to bide his time. With no Quins representative on the board at all despite being the second most senior club in the country Quins have a feeling of being orphaned and face a new board that is brimming with hostility towards the club. Other major losers were the incumbent secretary Aggrey Chabeda who was booted out very very very quickly and Sadik Makii who tried to hang on but was swept by the wave.

Otherwise we consolidate at the club.
